The Go Red For Women Luncheon here in San Diego is supporting the movement that's advocating for more research and swifter action for women's heart health. I have a $7,000 fundraising goal kicking off now and running through February 14th. I hope that I can count on you all today to help me in the crusade to make San Diego a healthier place to live, work and play. Go Red with Me!”
My original reason for getting involved dates back to July 3, 1999 when my husband, Sergio, had a massive heart attack. Thanks to years of work by the American Heart Association, doctors were able to identify the cause of my husband’s heart disease, which allowed him to live another 17 years. My mission to support the American Heart Association comes from a place of gratitude for those 17 years -- and all the many years I will have ahead of me with my mother, also a heart survivor!
As Chair of Go Red for Women, I am committed and excited to grow this campaign in our community. I am dedicated to educating all of our 15,000 employees at SDUSD to live heart healthy lives. I am dedicated to help spread this mission into other companies in our community. Please join me. Go Red With Me!
