Greetings:
As you may know, I have been a volunteer of the American Heart Association for many years and was inspired to become involved after I attended the Go Red For Women Luncheon in ABQ, New Mexico. I was astonished to learn that 1 in 3 will die from heart disease and that heart disease is the #1 killer of both men and women. However, when I learned that 80% of cardiovascular disease and stroke is preventable, I knew I had to get involved to help enhance awareness and implement change to this vital mission.
Since becoming involved with the American Heart Association, I have served as the 2016-Auction Chair for the AHA Heart Ball; 2017-Heart Ball Chair in New Mexico and currently serve as a 2018-Open Your Heart Chair and Heart Ball Executive Leadership Team Member in San Diego.
I am excited to help bring my passion to the San Diego community and to help raise funds for vital research and educational programs.
The San Diego Heart Ball: "A Night at the Derby" will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack. As you many know, the Kentucky Derby is the longest running sports event in American history. Each year, the derby champion is presented with a garland of red roses signifying the struggle and heart necessary to reach the Winner's Circle. This year, each generous gift of $1,000 will be recognized with one red rose on the Garland of Roses to be displayed the night of the Heart Ball in honor of our survivors.
Our goal is to raise $600,000 towards funding the AHA's extensive research, lifesaving breakthroughs, and educational programs.
I would be honored if you join me in the Winner's Circle and make your gift of $1,000!
Any donation is greatly appreciated and makes a direct impact on the mission.
Thank you in advance for your generosity! Together we can make a difference!
Respectfully submitted,
April Ager
